FAQs

Artistic wedding photograph of The Bride & Groom kissing on the beach at Crear, Argyll.

What is your style and approach?

Natural and relaxed, I keep in the background capturing the moments as they happen.  When the situation calls, I'll gently step in to take control such as gathering your guests for your big group shot.  Have a read of what my clients say on my Testimonial section by clicking here.

How long have you been photographing weddings?

I photographed my first wedding in 2005 at Park Circus, Glasgow, and prior to this, I had worked at weddings as an assistant photographer since 2003.

What packages do you offer?

A stunning range of beautiful albums from some of the best suppliers in the world, and also stylish wooden USBs for your high resolution images.  In addition, I offer a wide range of prints, canvas prints and framed prints too.  In the digital age, I still believe in the magic of receiving prints and albums!  Your guests are welcome to order prints directly from me too!

Do you like dogs as we’re going to bring Fido to our wedding?

I love dogs, cats and most animals and always had dogs and cats growing up.  I have photographed many weddings over the years where the wedding couple have brought their 4 legged best friends along.

I don’t like getting my picture taken - what do you recommend?

Don’t worry, once your special day is in full swing, even the most camera shy people become relaxed.  There is the option too of a pre-wedding shoot which is a great way of becoming at ease with the camera and is good fun!

Have you photographed weddings at my venue before?

As a wedding photographer since July 2005, the answer is often yes as I’ve photographed at most of the country's venues!  However, if it is a new location, this is exciting as it means new opportunities for beautiful pictures.  Where possible, I always visit your venue beforehand for a look at the best spots for pictures.

Do you travel?

I love to travel especially to the Highlands for the stunning scenery which makes for spectacular wedding photographs.  I used to live up north and know many great spots for pictures, often off the beaten track.  I'm happy to drive you to these locations too and can even intersperse the journey with stories of fantastic Scottish history of the places - but only if you'd like to hear it!   Have a read of Mandi & Blakes account of their 1st wedding anniversary journey to Glencoe on my Testimonials sections.

Do you photograph a lot of groups?

This is up to to you.  Weddings are normally less formal than they were a generation ago, but group shots are still important to most Bride & Grooms and family members.  To make sure you have as many or as few group pictures you would like, it's a good idea to write a list - please see below for more info.

Should I provide a list of group pictures which I would like?

It's not essential, however, a list of the group shots is very helpful as it saves time on your day and also means I can go over it with you to make sure your happy that all the groups have been covered.  I can also send over a template of the groups to help you write your own.  If you are eloping or just have a couple of guests, no list is required!

What if it rains at my wedding?

If you would like to go outside for pictures in the rain, usually with an umbrella, I'll happily follow suit. If you are willing to brave the elements even for a short time, the rain can lead to beautiful, atmospheric shots.  It’s also good luck for it to rain on your wedding day - and as such there are a lot of lucky couples in Scotland!

Can you provide a 2nd photographer?

No problem.  If you would like a 2nd photographer, for example to photograph your other half getting ready, I have highly talented colleagues I work with.  Coverage starts from £300 - just get in touch for more information.

Will we meet up before our wedding?

Yes I believe it is important to meet up at least once before your wedding for a chat about your pictures over a cuppa.  If you are travelling from afar, Skype is great instead.

Can we pay by instalments?

Yes - this is a popular option and the amount and frequency is up to you with the last payment due 3 weeks before your wedding.

How do we book you?

It’s simply a £300 deposit to secure the date and this is deducted from your chosen package.

Just get in touch with any additional questions!
